Location Solent Duration Permanent Salary £Negotiable Role & responsibilities The role and responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer shall include but not be limited to the following: - Plan and prioritise own work
- Carry out engineering calculations and check work of more junior engineers
- Carry out commissioning activities at client site as required
- Ensure that work complies with all necessary corporate, departmental and legislative requirements and procedures
- Specify and procure equipment to meet requirements
- Develop own engineering experience and skills
Supports the engineering group on: - Piping and Instrument diagrams (P&IDs)
- Preparation of project specific engineering and design specifications
- Input to specification and follow up of mechanical package units
- Participation in hazop meetings , key document reviews, model reviews etc.
- Technical interfaces with other disciplines, vendors and client
- Preparation of Hazardous Area Studies.
Supports the design group with: - Motor and Feeder Wiring and Terminal Connection design and loops
- Layouts
- 3D Design
- Installation Subcontracts
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: - Master of Science or Bachelor degree qualified, preferably Chartered Engineer or qualifications that can lead towards Chartership
- Minimum 5 years experience (preferred) with electrical engineering preferably with chemical or refinery plants
- Experience with lump sum, turn key projects
- Experience in conceptual, front end and basic engineering phase is an advantage. Preparing Scope definitions and man-hour budgets
- Experience with quantity estimating and control on a project level
- Experience in HV or MV electrical distribution systems design and substation commissioning. Experience in electrical system calculations such as short circuit calculations, stability analysis and harmonic analysis
- Has great drive to make things happen
- Will have strong goal orientation and time management skills
- Is a team player and self starter
Additional Information: Mobility required, initially for six month period away from the home office, to further develop skills relating to our Nuclear Energy business. Further travel may be required for short term assignments or business trips across Europe and Internationally. Apply
