Functional Role:   Technology Specialist for Coal Gasification / Synthesis Gas.   Role & Responsibilities:   The Process Engineer is to provide expertise in process and engineering design and also commissioning for gasification and synthesis gas technologies.   Job Description:   The duties and responsibilities of the Technology Specialist for Coal Gasification / Synthesis Gas shall include, but not be limited to the following:  Give authoritative advice and direction to Clients directly and to Projects in the specified technology area (the Purpose). Execute front-end process design work and direct a small team. Participate in start-up and commissioning activities for the technology area. Needs to be adept at study and consultancy work, but also to provide advice throughout the Project life cycle, possible to 3rd Party low engineering centres.  Range and Scope of Activities:  Proposals in technology area. Studies. Consultancy / PMC. Front-end Engineering. Process Systems Engineering. Detailed Engineering. Commissioning / Start-up. Flexibility to work in similar process technologies as necessary according to workload.

Requirements

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:  MSC / MEng or BSc Hons. Chemical Engineering. Significant project and / or R&D experience in the field of Purpose. Chartered Engineer (preferred). Good written and verbal communication skills. Experience in coal gasification technology. Should also have the base skills and attributes of a Principal Engineer. Needs to be self motivated, have authority.  Other Matters:  Full flexibility for business trips and assignments.
