Technical Tasks and Responsibilities:

Develops Electrical deliverables and performs engineering tasks to a high technical standard (amongst others): 

• Prepares project specific Electrical engineering and design specifications.
• Input to Piping and Instrument diagrams (P&ID’s).
• Preparation of Hazardous Area Studies.
• HV or MV electrical distribution systems design and substation commissioning.
• System calculations such as short circuit calculations, stability analysis and harmonic analysis.
• Load calculations and list.
• Input to specification, ordering and follow-up of package units.
• Participates in Hazops, key document reviews, model reviews, etc.
• Technical interface with other disciplines, Clients, Vendors, etc.
• Handles intersquads. 

Supports with Electrical Design Team with the development of (amongst others):

• Motor and Feeder Wiring and Terminal Connection design and loops.
• Layouts.
• 3D design.
• Installation Subcontracts.
• Cable list, wiring design.
• Cabinet and panel design.
• Subcontracts. 

Organisational Tasks and Responsibilities: 

• Directs / coaches others in the production of the discipline deliverables.
• Is contributing to developments within the discipline and its interfaces.
• Ensures implementation of line management instructions.
• Manages his personnel, resources planning, resourcing, task description, introduction and training, performance feedback / assessment, working atmosphere, team building, motivation.
• Ensures appropriate communication / co-ordination through all levels and interfaces.
• Defines strategy to meet (or improve) project targets.
• Prepares and implements execution plan and planning for the project.
• Ensures implementation of contractual requirements, contract management.
• Ensures implementation of project specific discipline related specifications, engineering and design requirements.
• Co-ordinates with Authorities.
• Ensures fit for purpose application of company procedures and methods.
• Takes initiatives for pro-active project execution, interfacing with others.
• Manages quality, defines and implement project specific quality control program / checking procedures.
• Manages productivity, progress and total cost.
• Implementation of project control and reporting requirements. 

Experience / Skills: 

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent).
• Minimum 12 years of appropriate engineering experience in relevant industry.
• Has extended construction support / site experience, at least 2 times 3 months continuously at the end of a project.
• Has extended experience in the preparation of subcontracts including knowledge of the necessity / purpose of all related deliverables.
• Is thoroughly familiar with relevant codes and standards and able to apply them, including the authority requirements.
• Is thoroughly familiar with relevant Company Procedures, Departmental Methods and Guidelines and able to apply them.
• Has a broad overview of the overall project engineering process / activities and principles of project execution.
• Is thoroughly familiar with IT tools as required for his function.

This position requires fluency in both Dutch and English; knowledge of German would be valuable.
