Role & Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities of the Senior Piping Designer shall include but may not be limited to the following: 

• Modelling equipment in PDS using information from data sheets, vendor details and equipment layouts and including nozzle, ladder and platform design and orientation.
• Input of piping for initial study work using information from process flow sheets, equipment layouts and plot plans.
• Detailed input of piping systems incorporating all necessary line slopes, instrumentation, valves and special design items.
• Input of 3D pipe support systems.
• Generation of isometrics from a 3D model.
• Generation of equipment layouts from a 3D model.
• Generation of piping general arrangements from a 3D model.
• Client model reviews using Smart Plant Review. 

Essential Qualifications and Experience Required:

Essential 

• Ability to use PDS software for equipment and piping modelling.
• Ability to use PDS Pelican Forge pipe support software.
• Good general piping design knowledge.
• Good general mechanical design knowledge
• Good standard of verbal and written communication  in English.
• Co-ordination with other disciplines and other piping designers
• Problem solving ability.
• Ability to monitor and report on progress of work.
• Ability to maintain documentation and filing in good order.
• Ability to work to, and suggest improvements for, procedures and job notes.
• Use of, or ability to learn, PDS-SmartPlantReview software.
• Good general ability on IT computer software (expert is not required).
• HSE (health, safety, environment) awareness. 

Preferred Skills 

• AutoCad or Microstation (expert is not required).
• Use of PDMS or PDMS-DesignReview software.
• Experience of working on site - either construction or working plant.

This position requires fluency in both Dutch and English; knowledge of German would be valuable.
