Modularisation Engineer
Location Greenford, UK Duration Permanent Salary Negotiable
BASIC FUNCTION: 1. To manage the process of design, build,, move and place modular constructed process plant.
2. To help maintain the company at the forefront of modern, reliable and cost effective technology and practices in line with company policy.
3. To co-ordinate the activities of the project design team in arriving at a design that is fit for purpose, economical and practical.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Reports to the Manager, Detailed Engineering and has the following accountabilities:
Technology Development
The Modularisation Engineer is expected to keep abreast of current methodologies for:
1. Modular structure design techniques.
2. Lifting, transporting, offloading and placing.
3. Plant layout.
4. To maintain access to all technical and project information related to modularisation
Operations Support
Reporting to the Engineering Manager on assigned projects for the following activities:
1. To review proposals for areas of modular content and to liaise with other groups as necessary to ensure that concerns are adequately handled.
2. To comment to on specific modular design methods, including software, to be used for each study, proposal or project.
3. To assist the with the execution of technical assurance audits, supplier shop and yard surveys and peer reviews.
4. To provide effective technical input co-ordinating steel, concrete piping discplines, controlling CoG, warranty services, heavy lift planning, sequence of installation, Access, MTO schedule, Fabrication Yard scope and suitability.
5. To review key project documents, e.g. data sheets, technical specifications, plot plans & plant layouts, constructability and maintainability studies.
6. To assist with the resolution of technology related interface issues between disciplines as appropriate.
7. To be a key member in Design Review studies.
Reporting to the Project or Construction Manager on assigned Projects with regard to the subcontracting strategy and coordination of loading, shipping, off-loading and lifting, including liaison with Procurement Logistics.
