POSITION DESCRIPTION

A central position in the PMC (Project Managing Contractor) in Qatar is available to provide comprehensive process control support to the project.

The Process Control Engineer will be responsible to support the PMC and the Asset Delivery Teams for the various parts of the project during the SAT, pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up period in the field of process control. More specifically he/she can, during this phase, be responsible to:

-          Test FAT punch list items and design modifications.

-          Perform pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, e.g. check critical/complex control, sequence and safeguarding applications.

-          Review dynamic simulation studies, carried out with the MPDS (Multi Purpose Dynamic Simulator) prior   to start-up.

-          Give process control support to the Commissioning and Start-Up team.

-          Ensure that control interfaces between various parts of the plant during commissioning are properly handled.

-          Assist in Alarm Management activities.

-          Work together with the Main Automation Contractor to ensure proper functioning of the DCS/IPS and proper implementation of plant changes.

-          Provide process control training during commissioning and start-up to operations, both formal and informal

REQUIREMENTS

1.       B.Sc in Chemical Engineering, Physics or Process control.

2.       Experience in the Petrochemical, Oil or Gas industry as well as process control. Experience with sequence/batch control is preferential.

3.       Operational and/or start-up experience.

4.       Experience with modern DCS systems. Exposure to Advanced Process Control is desirable.

5.       The candidate should also have a demonstrated ability to:

-          Work in a multi disciplinary and multi cultural team with members of various backgrounds

-          Supervise the work of Contractors and Consultants working on a Project

-          Have good analytical skills and be able to organize and plan activities independently

-          Communicate effectively with all levels in the organization and with external parties

-          Be a good team player
