Project Data Manager
Location Greenford, UK Duration Permanent Salary Negotiable BASIC FUNCTIONS: To ensure engineering, administration and supplier data is effectively managed and developed to meet the information requirements of the project and handover to client.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Development and execution of project data management philosophy and procedures.
2. Supervision of project assigned Data Coordinators.
3. Establish relationships with suppliers to facilitate exchange of electronic information.
4. Ensure project Procurement purchase orders and sub-contracts contain the correct specifications and requirements to facilitate correct and timely exchange of information.
5. Establish relationships with all project disciplines and ensure that project coding schemes are properly defined and instituted within the various project procedures.
6. Support engineering disciplines in the use of eWarehouse and associated data management tools.
7. Assist Engineering in the bulk population of the engineering database system (eWarehouse).
8. Development and continuous monitoring of data change management systems to maintain confidence in the accuracy and completeness of data.
9. Producing standard and ad-hoc reports as required by the project.
10. Keeping all necessary documentation, logs and audit mechanisms up-to-date.
11. Assist Spares coordinator in consolidation of E-SPIR databases into clients Advisor database (MS Access).
12. Consolidate supplier data from Excel templates into eWarehouse utilising established interfaces and change management processes.
13. Generate ERC templates for completion by suppliers
14. Generate Instrument SpecSheet templates out of INtools for completion by suppliers
15. Provide feedback to equipment suppliers regarding data quality and provide coaching where necessary sometimes through visits to suppliers factories/offices.

The emphasis in this position is on continuous improvement of data quality.
The ability to anticipate, identify and solve problems related to the smooth functioning of the data co-ordination process.
The ability to expedite a process from its inception through to its completion.
The ability to operate in a constantly changing high-technology environment.
TECHNICAL AND ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS:
A computer science or engineering degree would be satisfactory, although an OND/HND will be considered.
The main requirements are:
- A background a working knowledge of database technology and techniques.
- Experience of working in an engineering discipline for a main EPC contractor.
- Previous experience of data co-ordination in an engineering environment.
- A proven ability to communicate effectively with users.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
Direct experience of engineering work processes in a recognized discipline.
Working knowledge of database technology and techniques including MS Access.
Previous experience of data co-ordination and spares management.
Experience of providing support to application users.
Experience of import and export of data from database systems.
Good working knowledge of MS applications.
A proven ability to communicate effectively with users.
Proven ability to supervise a team and achieve set objectives.
PREFERRED SKILLS
A major engineering application set such as CAD, simulation etc.
Visual Basic for Applications (MS Access / MS Excel)
