Our clients Supply Chain Department has an immediate opening for a Senior Planner who will be the key interface in the management of strategic objectives and initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with Sales, S&OP, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality and Product Development Teams and provide mentoring and solid planning practices for more junior members of the planning function. This position will be located at our Burnaby facility. Responsibilities: - Work in a team environment to optimize on-time delivery, lead time and cost,
- Develop planning guidelines and procedures,
- Provide mentoring and focus for more junior team members,
- Develop and driving both the long term and short term capacity plans for manufacturing,
- Monitor material supply to ensure manufacturing and sales commitments are achieved,
- Perform risk assessments & provide alternatives to eliminate or mitigate risks,
- Provide timely and appropriate product availability information,
- Align inventory and manufacturing plans with corporate objectives and targets,
- Build Cross functional relationships to achieve objectives,
- Develop, measure, and communicate metrics that track the effectiveness of capacity planning and manufacturing execution,
- Liaise with IT on scheduling system automation projects, streamlining the processes and removing manual non-value add processes and
- Manage project issues, assignments, new product introductions and continuous improvement initiatives, as assigned.
Qualifications: - A degree in Engineering, Business or Commerce
- Minimum 5 years master scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment
- CPIM or equivalent certification is preferred
- In-depth knowledge and experience in ERP/MRP functions and implementation
- Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes and flow of material
- Strong knowledge of TOC and Lean principles
- A proven leader with superior analytical skills, exceptional oral and written skills
- Knowledge and experience using system query tools & data extraction
- Knowledge in master planning, demand management & inventory systems
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic team environment
- Ability to think creatively and identify innovative solutions to difficult issues
- Ability to build commitment to ideas, plans, or courses of action
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal and presentation skills timely, accurate and succinct delivery of information
- Strong time management skills ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong leadership experience required
