Principal/Senior Process Engineer (Power Generation)
With over four decades of experience, Ou client has built a reputation of delivering innovative, cost effective business and engineering solutions to owners, operators and suppliers to nuclear and conventional power sites.As part of our team focusing on power generation, you may be involved in conventional, nuclear or renewable generation projects. Our work ranges from close in operational support to local power operators, through feasibility studies for the power plants of the future to due diligence reviews on hydro plants in Africa. Our opportunities will call upon your ingenuity, flexibility and experience as well as your engineering degree. The power generation market is in a state of flux with proposals for many new power plants alongside efforts to keep existing operations and scoping and developing new plants. We are seeking applications from degree qualified engineers to join our growing Power Generation team based in Glasgow and are keen to hear from candidates with previous relevant experience gained within the UK power or energy industries. Duties and Responsibilities You will be required to undertake project management, engineering design and computer simulation modelling as part of a growing team producing work for the power industry.Work will typically include: - Leadership of Projects and Project Teams - liaison with Clients - feasibility and conceptual design studies - site survey and inspection activities - analysis and design - specification writing - trouble shooting and problem-solving - technical due-diligence advice Requirements Suitable candidates will possess the following: - Suitable Degree in Chemical Engineering - Working towards Chartered status - A reasonable level of relevant industrial experience since graduation Please note that due to the nature of our clients' work, candidates will need to meet certain nationality and residency criteria to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance. We are particularly interested in individuals with consultancy/contracting experience in design, installation, commissioning, operating and maintenance of process plant equipment.
