Senior power systems engineer / Power generation engineer / Energy systems engineer / Power systems consultant / is needed for a leading engineering consultancy specialising in power systems.

Applicants should have a background in analysing networks covering highly complicated and interconnected National grid systems, distribution network operator sub-transmission and distribution system to local low voltage networks

Clients have included large conventional thermal generators to small-scale renewable generation projects, analysing their effects on the distribution and transmission systems, and presenting the findings in comprehensive reports. So previous project management experience could be seen as an advantage. This position covers sites throughout the UK so extensive travel will be involved with occasional travel to mainland Europe.

Extensive knowledge of network analysis study tools, some that are use are PSS/E, DigSilent, Ella, Neplan, PTW, ETAP, CYME, ERACS & IPSA, together with the relevant standards, including Grid Code, Security and Quality of Supply Standards (SQSS) and Customer Use of System Code (CUSC).

Working knowledge in Transmission & Distribution system planning would be desirable, to include;
