You should have excellent business development skills and have first hand current knowledge of the UK power generation market. The role also requires a high level of technical skills preferably covering all aspects of power generation from gas turbines to gas and diesel engines. Knowledge of Combined Heat & Power (CHP) would be an advantage. Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills, combined with good financial management is essential.

The scope of work will cover:

* Identification of potential clients
* Assistance in the preparation of proposals
* Carrying out project assessments and feasibility studies
* Plant design, specification and the management of the tendering processes.
* Supervision of construction and commissioning of installation.

Furthermore, you will identify and manage interfaces to other disciplines and equipment suppliers and contribute to the planning and prioritisation of knowledge growth activities within the Division.

Candidates should be an open-minded team player with the ability to lead as well as support. You should be able to communicate clearly across different levels and have an excellent understanding of the broad power generation market.

Qualified to degree level as a Mechanical Engineer, you will preferably be CEng. and MIMechE. You will have good relevant professional experience in the power generation industry as well as sound project management experience. Candidates with higher technical and managerial qualifications would be an advantage
