HV Transmission and Distribution EngineerQualifications:Applicants will be experienced in an EHV substation environment, together with excellent communication skills are essential along with a full UK driving licence and a willingness to travel to different locations in the UK and possibly overseas.
Experience:Solid experience in many or all of the followings:-
*Ability to under take front end engineering designs of HV electrical systems and equipment reflecting client requirements *Design and Specification at 132 kV and above consisting of substation layouts (indoor and outdoor), substation equipment - Switchgear GIS and Outdoor, Transformers, SVCs, SCADA, LVAC and LVDC systems, protection, batteries, communication, cabling Substation Earthing Power system studies using ERACS, PSS/E *Identify all relevant standards and Customer requirements, ensuring compliance with relevant National / International Standards and legislation, and contract specification *Undertake the design work with due regard to Health, Safety & Environmental Procedures and production of Designer Risk Assessments, as necessary, to fulfil the obligations in compliance with CDM *Examine contract documentation and establish the Company's scope of work including termination boundaries. *Conduct design reviews *Witness testing and commissioning
In addition the following area of experience would be advantageous -Good understanding of all aspects of transmission line design -Transmission and utility distribution system planning and design -Technical due diligence for T&D systems
The role is based in the Midlands.
The HV Transmission and Distribution Engineer will provide expertise in all aspects of substation design and will work on the delivery of substation projects on both stand alone assignments and as part of multi-disciplinary teams. This broad ranging role covers all aspects of HV transmission and distribution and in particular design leadership in EHV substations (132kV and above).
